This photo album will show pictures of our personal apple orchard where the trees have gotten neglected. We called in the advice of Todd Harvey from Fireside Orchard and began a heavy duty pruning project. We'll be adding pictures to take this album throughout a complete season!

Fall colors at the nursery and around town

These are photos from different gardens we have taken through the summer. Some are here at the nursery, others are elsewhere.

This album over time will feature many of the hosta we have here in the nursery in our display gardens or that are in our gardens at home.

This album will display shade perennials that are in gardens in and around the Northfield area. Some will show single plants and others will be a combination of plants.

These photos will show how a larger tree is transplanted (or tree spaded) into a yard. We have thousands of large trees available for tree spading to your property. If you have questions - please give us a call or use the Contact Us page!

Our retail manager - Heidi Gervais along with her boyfriend Scott Brosseau, planted six large balled and burlapped trees for Scott's parents in Cottage Grove, MN - Pat & Shirley Brosseau. It's a little work - but it can be done.

In the fall of 2005, we were hired to eradicate Buckthorn in a natural thicket on a customer's three wooded lots. This slideshow will give you an idea of the proper procedures and steps in buckthorn eradication. The morning of August 24, 2006, the weather prediction had for thunderstorms and the usual. It was not the usual. A hail storm like no other started about 25 miles northwest of Northfield and continued for about 60 miles. Hardest hit were parts of New Prague and the City of Northfield. Almost every house in town had hail damage to the roof - most had some siding damaged and even on some the windows were broken.

The balled and burlapped trees are a way to get a larger tree into your landscape - but they are definitely work to plant. The photos in the gallery here show the steps our crew takes when planting these trees.
