Welcome to Knecht’s Nurseries and Landscaping. We began growing trees in 1988, added landscaping in 1992 and our retail plant center in 1999. By making a strong commitment to personal service, constant improvement in both the retail and plant production areas, and fostering a sense of community with all those whose lives we touch, we have seen an amazing growth in the business. • Growers and retailers of Minnesota grown northern hardy landscape plants. We also provide landscape design and installation services for residential customers.
• Our staff of certified nursery and landscape professionals is able to provide information, advice and service that will help you plan and complete a successful and beautiful landscape project.
• We are a small town nursery with quality, selection and service second to none. With over 45,000 trees, shrubs, and perennials to choose from and a full selection of annuals, we are able to provide the best plants, amazing selection and exceptional value.

Leif Knecht Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional	With a lifelong love of the outdoors, I began planting trees in 1988 and never quit! A deep interest in all types of plants grew into container production of perennials, shrubs and trees, and the establishment of our retail nursery.I love meeting people as they come into the nursery, and helping them to find just the right plants for their project. Improving the nursery everyday takes most of my time, but canoeing, fishing, hiking and cross-country skiing and square dancing with Deb fills leisure time!
Deb Knecht Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional	I’ve been planting trees with Leif since 1992 when we got married. As we expanded from growing trees into the nursery and landscaping, we found that it took both of us to manage the business. In 1998, after 24 years in the insurance business, I took leave of my senses, and started a new career as a partner in the business with Leif.One of my biggest loves is the canoe country in northern Minnesota. I also try to keep up with my perennial gardens at home and I love baby-sitting our two little grandsons, Jordan and Tyger.
Heidi Gervais Certified Nursery and Landscape Professional	I’ve been here with Knecht’s since 2002 and am currently the retail sales manager. The five years of experience I’ve had in the retail florist industry helps me assist you with designing perennial beds, annual planters and shrub plantings.I enjoy the work immensely, the people I meet and look forward to serving you at the nursery.
Amy Voight and Kristin Lucas Certified Nursery and Landscape Professionals	Amy Landscape design is my passion. Designing allows me to use my love of gardening and creativity to create beautiful spaces in my favorite place — the outdoors. Since starting in the landscape industry in 1997, I have been involved with nursery management, installation and, of course, design. Working in the nursery has provided me with plant knowledge and installation of landscapes and has given me experience with hardscapes and “problem” areas in the landscape. Kristin I have been in the landscaping industry since 2002, and have a degree in horticulture and landscape design. Being a landscape designer gives me the opportunity to make your yard a place you love to be. From children’s play areas to relaxing patios to year-round planting interest, designing beautiful, useable outdoor spaces is what I love to do.
Jim Westlund Landscaping Division Manager	I started here at Knecht’s in February 2005. I’m a graduate of Northfield High School and Dakota County Vo Tech. I enjoy working with people, being outdoors and I give 100% to anything that I do. I look forward to every job — whether large or small!My outside interests include motorcycling, bicycling, and cross country skiing. In my spare time, I continue to improve my rural building site where I hope to build my dream home.
Gabby	My name is Gabby. I actually run the show here at the nursery. I have people stop in and ask for me by name. Anyone that brings me a doggie treat (a real doggie treat, please — they don’t let me eat people food) and plays ball with me, becomes my new best friend. I am here at the nursery anytime that my humans are here and when they go home, I go with them. I also like the canoe country — especially the fishing. Woof!
