This spring – when it finally arrived – is very dry. The plants need to be watered! Any plantings that you did new to your yard in 2008, all need a drink of water. A thorough watering once or twice a week will keep these plants going as they are getting established in your landscape.
Established plants would also be happy to receive some moisture as they are expending energy in leafing out. Another place to be sure to water are the plants that are located under the eaves of buildings. Rain doesn’t reach these plants very easily and these areas tend to be especially dry.
If we get an inch of rain – you can skip the watering, but until we start to get meaningful rain this spring, be kind to your plants and give them a drink.

Don’t forget the birds! We have our birdbath here at the nursery and the robins have been drinking and splashing around all week. This morning I cleaned out and filled the birdbath we have at home and as soon as I got back in the house – there was commotion going on in the birdbath! I know they appreciated it!
