Dazzling Globe Blue Spruce

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIf you love the rich blue color of a Colorado Blue Spruce,  but don’t want a full size tree of 50 plus feet tall, the Dwarf Globe Blue Spruce may be the right plant to spice up a special spot in your landscape.

Rich, true blue color, resistance to winter burn, minimal maintenance needs, well behaved growth and modest size are the outstanding qualities that make Dwarf Globe Blue Spruce first rate landscape plants for locations with good drainage and half day to full day sun.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERADwarf Globe Blue Spruce is available in a low graft shrub form, as well as a high graft on a standard – small tree form, allowing the versatility to place this shimmery iridescent blue in the landscape as a mounded shrub or as a focal point dwarf tree.  Low maintenance is a big plus for Dwarf Globe Blue Spruce.  After its first year of establishment when consistent but not excessive watering is important, the Dwarf Globe Blue Spruce needs only an occasional snip with a hand pruner.  In  ten years, I have only had to prune ours two times, and only 2 or 3 snips each time.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe more sun and wind it receives, the better a Dwarf Globe Blue Spruce performs, which means it may be a good choice to replace an evergreen that has suffered severe winter burn.  Come in and see for yourself how dense and colorful these tough evergreens can be.  We currently have good numbers in stock – but don’t wait too long!
