Planting Late is Great

Late fall plantings of trees, shrubs and perennials can  be very successful and cost effective.  Placing dormant plant materials in your landscape in October and November enables them to be ready to vigorously flush out new roots and top growth as soon as soils warm up a little in early spring.  The entire growing season is available for the development and extension of a swell structured root system.  Happy roots = happy plant materials.

When fall planting, be sure to mix Osmocote timed release fertilizer into the backfill soil before filling in around the root ball of your new plant(s).  This special fertilizer will gradually be reOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAleased as soil temperatures warm in April and May, and will continue feeding almost the entire 2014 growing season.  I’m quite certain that you will be amazed at the very nice growth the very first season after planting.
