Ramblin’ Red Rose

Rosa ‘RADramblin’ PP14,270   Pictured here is our Ramblin’ Red Rose at home.   It has been blooming now for just a few days, and there are dozens of  buds that are yet to bloom!  This re-current bloomer, hardy in zones 3-7 grows to 6′-10′ tall.    A seedling of Henry Kelsey, it’s outstanding true red, fully double 3″-4″ flowers born in small clusters on strong, well thorned canes with vigorous burgundy new foliage that shows excellent disease resistance.

I’m especially proud of this rose this year since last winter / early spring we had such horrible weather and it was so tough on landscape plants.  I lost several perennials and hosta to winter kill and to have this rose wake up this spring with absolutely no die-back and so many flower buds – it’s amazing.
