Think Spring with Landscape Design

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIf you are feeling a bit stir crazy due to the old-fashioned Minnesota winter we have been experiencing, you can break out of the craziness by using the last part of the winter to design a new fresh look for your landscape.  It can be liberating to experiment with pencil and paper – sketching out different new layouts for an area of your landscape that has become old, tired or overgrown.

Give yourself permission to jot down all of the ideas that come to you, a list of your likes and dislikes and some broad brush vision of what you are hoping for.  Then quickly do several quick rough sketches that translate your ideas into a simple layout.  Initially don’t worry about what’s right or wrong, striving instead to just get your ideas on paper.  Once you have a few rough diagrams on paper, put them away for a couple of days, and then pull them out and review your brainstorming concept sketches.  Over a period of days or weeks, pull together the most satisfying ideas and fine tune into your final plan.

If this seems like an exercise that you just don’t want to do – Knecht’s Nurseries and Landscaping offers some help.  Our Landscape Designer, Amy Voight, has a great depth of experience designing landscapes that are custom tailored to the wants, needs and tastes of each family she works with.  We can assist you with on-site consultations & advice, landscape design and installation.  These services are detailed on our Landscape Page.  Simply contact our office either by phone or on-line and we can arrange an initial consultation.   Pre-season planning makes it possible to see the landscape of your dreams become a reality during spring or early summer.  Give us a call today and we’ll get the ball rolling.
