Now is the time to provide a good deep watering for your landscape plantings and lawn. Soil moisture has largely been used up in recent days and the heat is on! Both recent plantings from the last several years, and long established trees, shrubs and perennials will benefit from a good watering.
For brand new plantings done during the 2013 season, continue to follow your blue watering chart provided to you by Knecht’s or find this handy guide here on our website.
For established trees, shrubs and perennials, place a sprinkler and let it run in an area for 1 to 2 hours to provide a good watering, and then move the sprinkler to another area.
If you have an irrigation system for your lawn and landscape plantings, and have been running on regular cycles throughout the summer, no additional watering should be necessary beyond your normal cycle.
